Also known as Panch Phuran our blend of Bengali Five Spice is made up of easy to use Ground fennel, cumin, fenugreek, black mustard seed and nigella seed, can be simply fried in a little oil, or butter with vegetables (especially, pumpkin, potatoes or sweet potatoes) and fish or seafood. These herbs and spices introduce a subtle flavour (without the chilli). Used as an additional flavouring for preparing Dhal curry, lentil curry and stews. Bengali Five Spice mixed with our Durban or Joburg Curry Powder creates Fish Masala. As little as a teaspoon added during the cooking process will encourage aromatics to any dish, resulting in delicious flavours.
